Urban Golf-Portland

I am the organizer of the worlds largest gathering of Urban Golfers. Once a year we hold World Urban Golf Day, a collection of 12 countries with 45 cities that participate on one day around the globe. Portland is also the only city that regularly meets (every 6 weeks) to play one of 19 courses designed around industrial sections of Portland. All organizing and promoting any urban golf event happens only through social media communities such as Facebook, Wordpress and Myspace.

Red Light Project

This project happened in correlation with the Affair at the Jupiter Hotel art show. The Jupiter Hotel was changed from its distinguished blue glow to red in toe course of a few minutes. The hotel stayed red for the weekend and then slowly changed back to blue on a lazy Sunday evening. Most lights were donated after the project and some can still be seen on the outside of the Hearth building at Caldera in Central Oregon.

W+K 25th Anniversary/Founders Party

I was brought in as a stage manager for the entertainment that was going on around the main entertainment (that you see in this image). The Beasties performed a show for about a crowd of 300. Many people left prior to the show thinking that the music guest was going to be Phil Collins...

Participated and organized one of Portlands institutional alternative events. And yes, that my crews office space.

NoPdxAntiCon

A couple of weeks prior to the announcement that Portland Santacon was being held out in Hillsboro, a plan was conceived of holding our own version in North Portland. In the mass confusion of were the con was being held we were only expecting about 75 Santa's…. by the first watering hole we had 200+, by the second 300+, by the third 500+, then we stopped counting. Promoting the event was all done through Wordpress and word of mouth.

No Pants Subway Ride

Improve Everywhere through social media event of riding the subway (or in our case the Max) with no pants on.

52 Ltd Seasonal Parties

Organization of special events that let creative talent meet and greet other creatives as well as project managers, small firm owners.... prospective clients. The image you see here was for a holiday get together where the second floor of a building became a minimal winter wonderland through the use of lighting and plastic waste buckets. The buckets were used for several parties and retired after the Rosie Awards.

Elizabeth Leach 25th Anniversary Party

Party in Pearl District warehouse celebrating the 25th anniversary of the gallery. Event included video installations, music, live entertainment, food and more for 300+ people.

LepreCon

An off shoot of Santacon but with green costumes instead of red. Promoting the event was all done through Wordpress and word of mouth.
